Our Beliefs
We Believe...
The Scripture: We believe the Scripture is inspired, infallible and is the Authority of God (Matt 5:18; 2 Tim 3:16-17).
God: We believe in one God, who is the Creator of all (Deut 6:4; 1:16). God has revealed Himself in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (2 Cor 13:14). God is eternal (Pss 90:2, infinite (1 Tim 1:17), and sovereign (Pss 93:1). God is unchanging (Mal 3:6), just (Deut 32:4) and righteous (Ex 9:27). God is omniscient (Pss 139:1-6), omnipresent (Pss 139: 7-13), omnipotent (Rev 19:6). God is love (1 Jn 4:8), gracious (Ephes 2:8), merciful and good (Rom 8:28).
Christ: We believe in the full deity of Christ. He is God incarnate, God in human form. Without ceasing to be God, Jesus became man in order that He would reveal who God is and provide the means of salvation for all mankind (Matt 1:21; Jn 1:18; Col 1:15). We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and that He is fully human and fully God. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life and His teachings are true Matt 1:23). We believe that Jesus died on the cross for all mankind (1 Jn 2:2) as a substitutionary sacrifice (Is 53: 5-6). We believe by Jesus dying, He has provided the means for salvation for all those who claim Him to be their Savior (Acts 16:31) and that our salvation is the result of the shedding of His blood (Ephes 1:17). Jesus ascended into heaven in His glorified body (Acts 1:9-10), now seated at the right hand of the Father as our advocate and mediator (Heb 7:24; Rom 8:34).
The Holy Spirit: We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). We believe He came from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ (Jn 16:7-8). The Holy Spirit indwells believers (Rom 8:9). He is the agent in which Christ baptizes believers into His body (1 Cor 12:12-14).
Humanity: We believe that humanity came into existence by direct creation of God and that humanity is uniquely made in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:26-27). We believe that all humanity, because of Adam’s fall, has inherited a sinful nature, that all mankind chooses to sin (Rom 3:23). Humanity is absolutely unable to remedy this state (Ephes 2: 1-5, 12).
Salvation: We believe that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (Jn 3:16). God, in His mercy, has provided all of us the only means for salvation, through His Son, Jesus Christs. Acts 4:12 tells that “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven to men by whom we are saved.” We believe salvation is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Just as salvation cannot be earned, neither does it need good works to be maintained or sustained (Ephes 2:8-9). Changed lives are the inevitable results of salvation (James 2).
Church: We believe that the church, the Body of Christ, is a living, spiritual body which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members (Ephes 1:22-23). Through the church, believers are to be taught to obey the Lord and to bear witness to Christ as Savior. It is the obligation of the church to follow the Great Commission. The Gospel of the grace of God is to be preached to the entire world (Matt 28:19-20).
