Quilts for Grace Village

On June 12, 2011, the "Quilt Project" was conceived. Eighty-eight quilts were needed for the new bunkbeds at Grace Village. Jeff Gacek asked Shelley Gacek if she knew anyone who would be willing to help make them. Although this huge project seemed near impossible to complete in the short time frame of a few months, God knew different. 

After posting a request for people to sew and donate fabric, Shelley heard from many people who were eager to help. People were working individually, with groups like the Heavenly Stitchers and Holy Name Church, and even a corporate effort by employees of Land O'Lakes on a Saturday.

At the end of August, 131 quilts were made! Not only will all of the children at Grace Village have a beautiful quilt to snuggle in, but there are enough for each of the 30 elderly supported by Healing Haiti as well. 

God's hand was so obviously on this project! Glory to God!
